Win with Bead Aid

Bead Aid 2004 is the first time this People’s Art form has become available in South Africa where it is happening in both the real and the virtual world between March 18th and April 18th.

To participate, just purchase one of the more than 400,000 virtual beads and “thread” it onto the canvas at www.beadaid.org. (Note: virtual purchases are for a “block” of no less than 5 beads.)

You could also go along to either Canal Walk Shopping Centre in Cape Town (between March 26th and April 14th) or Cresta Shopping Centre in Gauteng (between April 5th and April 18th) to purchase one of more than 150,000 actual beads. These are placed on the murals at each of these Centres. Unlimited purchases are allowed – as long as there are still beads available.

BEAD AID 2004 BENEFICIARY

The contribution from each and every “bead” in Bead Aid 2004 goes to Elim Home, a non-profit residential care facility based in the historical, but impoverished town of Elim. Elim Home cares for the most severely intellectually and physically disabled children from disadvantaged communities in all three Cape provinces. To find out more about Elim Home visit www.elimhome.org.za.

AND YOU CAN WIN:

Each and every bead purchased will qualify you for one entry into a Grand Prize Draw where you could win a seven-day Premiere cruise for two aboard the Norwegian Dawn from New York to Florida & the Bahamas. The Norwegian Dawn is itself well known for its unique private art collection. (See more under Win with Bead Aid). Make sure that you complete the competition entry form that comes with the purchase of your bead and place it in the box at each shopping mall or submit it online as requested.
